Well after initially preparing the record of these events in my website, I received the following email through the FreeRepublic "Post Office".

When you linked to the image of the Seattle riot police on my website, monkeybagel.com, I started getting an awful lot of hits on my site.

It bothered me that you'd copied the text from the site and didn't give proper credit, and so I changed the image _on monkeybagel.com_, which, of course, meant that the images your users were downloading from monkeybagel no longer matched the text on your site.

I just noticed some entries in my weblogs that look like this:

It looks like someone named Ark2 created a site to make me look like I'd committed a criminal act.

I'd like to avoid any confusion by clearing this up now; The only place I made any change was on my own website. It was because you were linking images from my website that the images on your site failed to be what you wanted them to be.

As it happens, I don't have proper permission to use the image you originally linked to, so I've removed it from my site in order to avoid any further trouble with it.

I've also removed the second image, the one of my face and domain name, to avoid causing you any further trouble.

I apologize for any embarrassment I may have caused you, and I hope that we can part in peace.

It will be noted that picture substituted for the original in both of the FreeRepublic articles is no longer there in either - although the space it occupied in each is. Fortunately, I took the precaution of copying that photo in PhotoPoint prior to its removal by Benjy Feen, as the foregoing reflects.
